Wm. (Billy) Gribble

Billy Gribble earned his J.D. Degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey School of Law in 2002.

Attorney Gribble is a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and participated in their advance trial advocacy seminar. Recently, Billy was named the best lawyer in Blount County, Tennessee by the readers of the Daily Times. Billy is an experienced attorney who has represented clients in a variety of criminal matters ranging from first degree murder, aggravated assault, rape and felony drug cases, to matters such as DUI, domestic assault and other such misdemeanors. In our family law practice, he has represented a multitude of clients on all levels of divorce cases, including cases with marital assets over a million dollars and cases involving child support and custody disputes

Attorney Gribble firmly believed that in starting his own practice, he could be more effective in helping people deal with a variety of legal issues. In 2008, Mr. Gribble founded The Gribble Law Firm. Since then, Mr. Gribble has represented numerous high-profile clients in State and Federal Courts. In 2011 Mr. Gribble partnered with Charles A. Carpenter to form Gribble, Carpenter and Associates. This partnership has allowed Atty. Gribble to fully realize his passion for helping people at all levels of litigation and protection.

Atty. Gribble is active in a number of professional organizations including the Blount County Bar Association, a member of the Maryville Society of Certified professionals, and a member of the Maryville Chamber of Commerce. Billy treats every client with respect and integrity.


Charles A. Carpenter

Charles was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and French from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia in 1986. 
Charles was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of  Tennessee College of Law in 1991.  After law school he clerked for Judge Adolpho A. Birch, Jr., of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.  He was an Assistant District Attorney for ten years, with over two-hundred jury trials under his belt.  Charles ventured into private practice in 2004 until 2011 when he teamed up with Billy Gribble II to form Gribble, Carpenter & Associates, PLLC. 

Charles has taught at South College and the Vanderbilt School of Law, and, currently, teaches a kindergarten-first grade Sunday school class at his church.

             Charles studied about Haiti in college and was touched by the people's suffering there after the earthquake in January of 2010.   He spent a week in Haiti in February and his time there changed him.  Since his return he has worked to continue to assist Haiti.  To that end he has formed The Carpenter's Fount, a not-for-profit company organized to help the innumerable orphaned children in Haiti. 


Keith Edmiston

Keith received his bachelor's degree in English from East Tennessee State University. During college he worked as an emergency medical technician on an advanced life support ambulance. After graduating from college, Keith obtained his law degree with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he served as a member of the Tennessee Law Review. Prior to joining Gribble, Carpenter and Associates, Atty. Edmiston was in private practice in Knoxville, TN for over 15 years, with a primary focus on bankruptcy , commercial and general civil ligation, civil rights. He has taught several continuing legal education seminars on bankruptcy and civil rights topics.

Stanley R. Barnett

Stanley R. Barnett, Attorney at Law, focuses on criminal defense and orders of protection in the Maryville, Tennessee, area.
